Last year, the Awards celebrated its 25th anniversary with a glittering gala dinner attended by HRH The Princess Royal.

This year we changed the Awards from a formal dinner to a prime networking event with senior airline executives and VIP guests from the aviation industry.

It was held in conjunction with the inaugural Airline Sales & Marketing Conference, linking seamlessly with the evening reception hosted by the Conference sponsor Travelport.

Widely regarded as the industry’s pre-eminent event, the OAG Airline Industry Awards (formerly the OAG Airline of the Year Awards) recognize the most highly regarded and innovative airlines and airports, based on the votes of consumers who use them the most: frequent flyers from around the globe.

For the winners, these Awards are public affirmation of the product and service they offer, representing the views of their most important customers – the frequent traveler.

Although categories have changed over the years, the fundamentals on which the awards are based, have not. They remain true to the ideals of professional travelers, who have a right to expect operational efficiency and polished service. Add to that hassle-free travel and the ability to deliver the promises made by the marketing and advertising departments, and the awards have been a spur for airlines not simply to maintain standards, but to improve them.
