Votes for the award categories are polled from OAG’s world-wide customer base of business travelers and their votes are based on their personal experiences over the previous 12 months. The shortlist and winners are therefore based on the views of frequent flyers – the very people airlines and airports want to reach, influence and have as their customers.

The votes are collected, processed and analyzed by an independent research company.

New categories this year are "Best Airline Lessor" and "Best Airline Financier" (polled from readers of Airline Fleet & Network Management) plus “Best Freighter Operator” (polled from users of OAG’s air freight community portal oagcargo.com.)
